JOAC Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions for membership of JOAC.

• The Club’s Constitution defines the running of the club. A copy of the constitution is sent to each new member and is available through the JOAC website.

• Ours is a members club where membership is for a calendar year on payment of a subscription. This is effectively ‘opting in’ to the use of that data for legitimate club business. 

• The Club has a small number of Honorary Members and Honorary Life Members. These members do not pay subscriptions, but the handling of those members data is the same as for subscribing members.

• The Club is run on behalf of the membership by a small Committee of volunteers.

• The Club holds an Annual General Meeting, at which the year’s business is reported and Members get to nominate and vote in the Officers for the Club.

• The JOAC Committee works to engender an inclusive environment for anyone with an interest in Jowett Jupiters and the Club expects its Officers and Members to act in a respectful manner towards others.

• The club has a policy of only selling JOAC spares to members. They are not available to the general public.

• The Spares are sold by a third party supplier.

• The Club magazine is produced quarterly and posted to members.

• The Club magazine is published and distributed by a third party.

• The Club maintains a website with publicly accessible webpages and a members-only section. 

• The publicly accessible webpages include information about the car, the club and news of events.

• The members-only section of the website has back issues of the club magazine, technical information for Jowett Jupiters and Club documents (e.g. AGM minutes and the Club’s constitution).

• Occasionally the Club circulates Jupdates (short communications) to members by email using a Club Yahoo email account.

• The Club maintains a Facebook Group which is for sharing Jowett Jupiter and JOAC related posts.

• The Club produces a hardcopy register of members’ cars and a membership list approximately every two years.

• The Registrar maintains a vehicle register of Jowett Jupiters in collaboration with the Jowett Car Club, which is a historical record of all known Jowett Jupiters.

• A member can resign from the club at anytime by writing to the Membership Secretary.

• A member who either resigns or does not renew their membership will no longer be able to purchase JOAC spares, nor be able to access the JOAC members-only webpages and will not receive the regular club communications (i.e. the magazine and Jupdates).
